Alerts are used to show important messages to users. Keep it short and to the point.
Information
Show an ‘info’ box when there are things that are important for me as a user to know in order to understand what to do/what to expect. Our experience shows that many users skips reading these information boxes. Assume that no-one will ever read what you write in them.

Show a warning when the user is heading towards (or they are already in) dangerous territory and things probably won’t behave as they expect.
